Supported Independent Living (SIL)

Supported Independent Living (SIL)

Supporting you to live with greater independence, confidence and choice at home.

Supported Independent Living, commonly known as SIL, provides eligible NDIS participants with support or supervision from support workers within their home.

At Dothi Healthcare, SIL support is built around the individual. We take time to understand your routines, preferences, support needs and goals so that the support provided in your home feels respectful, consistent and appropriate for you.

Depending on your approved support arrangements, SIL may include assistance during the day, overnight support, help with personal routines, meals, household activities, safety and community access. Support may be delivered individually or within an appropriate shared-support arrangement.

Our focus is not simply on completing tasks. Wherever possible, we encourage participants to remain involved in everyday decisions, develop skills and build confidence so that home continues to feel like their own space.

SIL is the support – not the house

Supported Independent Living is funding for disability-related support delivered within a participant’s home. It does not pay ordinary living expenses such as rent, groceries or utilities. If you are considering SIL for yourself or somebody you support, contact Dothi Healthcare to discuss your circumstances, current funding and support requirements.
